We’d like to share the story of how one donor’s generosity made a big difference for a specific family! The family had been driving an old and unreliable car that was costing them more to maintain than it was worth.

Andrew*, the family’s working parent, enjoys driving and tried to earn extra income through delivery work using the old car. However, the stress and high maintenance costs made it too hard to keep doing.

They recently received a car from a Bridge of Hope donor. This new car with lower mileage has allowed Andrew to become a Lyft and Uber driver. He’s able to do this on some weeknights after his office job and on weekends, because it gives him control over his schedule and offers flexibility.

As a result, the family’s income has doubled over the past month. They’re feeling more at ease and confident that they can now pay rent and bills without as much stress – just in time to start paying rent in full and prepare for graduation!
