Spring into Action

May 17, 2021

When plans to move into rental housing fell through, Kaylee ended up living at an Exton hotel with her school-aged son and 3 year old daughter. Needing to help her son during virtual school and with no extra money for daycare, Kaylee took a night-shift job while her mother babysat. Even working full-time, the expense of the hotel didn’t leave enough money to save for an apartment. They were stuck for months. With Bridge of Hope and her Neighboring Volunteers, Kaylee and her children have emerged from that small hotel room to a light-filled apartment. Kaylee is thrilled to put the challenges of this year behind her and focus on their future. Now she is looking for daytime work, her son is back in school and her daughter will soon have daycare.

Are you also eager to emerge from this challenging time and want to make a difference?  Through Neighboring with Bridge of Hope, you can change the life of a family facing homelessness. Becoming a Neighboring Volunteer transforms everyone involved through God’s love and the power of relationships. We are specifically seeking groups of Neighboring Volunteers from churches, small groups, or Bible studies in Downingtown, Coatesville and West Chester, but any location will be a blessing. Learn what building a Bridge of Hope might mean for your community, your congregation, and your own discipleship. Call or email me at 610-280-0280 x1109 or scottd@bridgeofhopeinc.org to learn more about Neighboring to end family homelessness.
